More from the lady who lounges

Hello world…I say that because apparently I have had visitors from as far afield as Finland and Singapore. Possibly some long lost relatives from the latter? Leon and I had a run through the Savoy act last night and were pleased with the variety of material we’ve assembled. My singing teacher Jeff Talbot is delighted that I am putting his lessons to good use with some light soprano choices of ‘My Dearest Dear‘ and ‘Someday I’ll Find You‘. He is an inspiration to me and I always feel good when I’ve had a good old Bel Canto vocalise with him on a Wednesday morning. We’re also including some war time standards like ‘We’ll Meet Again‘ ( which Leon’s grandfather Hugh Charles wrote) since Sir Winston Churchill spent a good deal of time at The Savoy meeting with military leaders. It won’t be a dry musical history lesson…plenty of good old showtunes and a big Jerry Herman section. Well you’ll just have to come and see for yourselves. If you can get in. It’s strictly for Savoy residents. Got an email from Veronique last night. I told you she’s in mourning for Tony Curtis. Apparently she and some Palm Springs oldsters threw a party in his honour and one gentleman dropped down dead during the rhumba. She’s withdrawing from social activity for at least a week.
